Birch plywood in grade B/B is characterized by higher surface quality on both sides. Only minor defects are allowed, and the surface usually does not contain “football patches” (repair inserts). This makes it easy to select a piece with one clean, aesthetic face, which is particularly useful when producing cutting boards or small wooden components.
In B/C grade plywood, one side may contain more visible defects, including football patches, which are acceptable in this grade. The material remains functional, but it typically requires more careful selection of parts during production.
